Omaima Alseesi
An Egyptian contemporary artist with passion for the Egyptian culture and heritage. The vibrant Egyptian environment, traditions and motives of the countryside and Upper Egypt inspire the themes of her artwork.
Omaima was born in Kuwait. She received her BA in English and German languages from Al-Alsun Faculty - Ain Shams University. She pursued a long career in English & Arabic translation in Kuwait and Egypt, and her last position was Translation Manager at multinational organizations in Cairo.
Throughout years of her career, the brush and colors never left her hands. In her artistic practice, Omaima employs a variety of techniques influenced by both Realism and Impressionism. Her work is distinguished by an intimate harmony between subject treatment and the pictorial surface, expressed through rich textures and diverse color relationships.
Omaima is a member of "Fine Art Lovers Society" in Egypt.
She was awarded the “Creative Excellence Award” at the La Rochelle International Salon in France in 2020.
Since dedicating herself fully to her artistic career in 2015, she has actively participated in the visual arts movement, taking part in numerous group exhibitions both locally in Egypt and internationally in the Netherlands, Dubai, Italy, the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Bulgaria, and France.
Up until 2025, she has held seven solo exhibitions in Egypt and London, including: “Doors of Baheyya أبواب بهية”, “Tales of Al-Ghandoora حكايات الغندورة” at Mahmoud Mokhtar Museum; “Egypt… Oasis of Beauty مصر.. واحة الجمال” at the Egyptian Embassy in London, United Kingdom; “Gifted Hands إيدين تتلف في حرير” at Salah Taher Hall, Cairo Opera House; “Siniora.. My Country Girl السنيورة بنت بلادي” at Isis Hall, Mahmoud Mokhtar Museum; “Earrings & Kerdan حلق وكردان” at Odyssey Art Gallery; and “Peek Out The Window طَـلّة من الشباك” at Salah Taher Hall, Cairo Opera House.
Omaima is the founder of the scarves line “Wear A Painting” designed by her using her original paintings so that women can wear a painting instead of seeing it only on the wall.
Omaima's artworks are found in many renowned private galleries and many of her paintings were sold to a number of art lovers in Egypt, USA, Europe the Middle East.
