I am Shahd Agamy, a graduate of Fine Arts, Sculpture Department, and I love expressing myself through my work. These works express a dialogue between elements that may seem contradictory but are naturally connected: the bull symbolizes raw strength and physical presence, while the girl represents flexibility, softness, and a quiet awareness that can hold that power without breaking. Through their interaction, my works convey balance—strength is not violence, femininity is not weakness, and differences merge into unity.

This contemporary sculpture captures a moment of intense athletic dynamism, reimagining the ancient Minoan tradition of bull-leaping with a sleek, modern aesthetic. The work features a powerful bull in a charging stance, its form rendered with smooth, flowing lines that emphasize muscularity and forward momentum. Vaulting over the animal's back is a stylized human figure, caught in mid-somersault with legs extended vertically, creating a striking vertical axis that contrasts with the bull's horizontal power. The high-gloss, deep red finish gives the piece a liquid-like quality, suggesting both the heat of the spectacle and the vital energy shared between the beast and the acrobat.
Conceptually, the sculpture bridges the gap between historical rite and modern abstraction. By removing facial features and fine details in favor of pure form, the artist focuses on the universal themes of bravery, balance, and the precarious relationship between humans and nature. The choice of a vibrant red palette evokes themes of passion and risk, while the polished surface reflects the surrounding environment, drawing the viewer into the motion of the leap. Resting on a minimalist black and white base, the piece stands as a testament to the enduring fascination with the "flying gallop" and the timeless spirit of the athlete.
