In this striking vertical composition, Fawad navigates the tension between the seen and the hidden. The piece centers on a partially obscured figure, whose gaze—rendered with photographic clarity—pierces through a high-collared garment that dominates the lower two-thirds of the frame.
The color palette is a masterclass in chromatic vibrance, pitting a saturated primary red against a cool teal background punctuated by electric orange flickering strokes. The garment itself serves as a canvas within a canvas, adorned with primitive, stencil-like motifs that evoke ancient symbology or street-art aesthetics. By merging the smooth, monochromatic reality of the subject’s face with the frantic, tactile energy of the surrounding environment, Fawad creates a visual dialogue about the masks we wear and the vivid internal landscapes we inhabit. The result is a work that feels both deeply personal and culturally resonant.
