This bronze sculpture is a striking example of biomorphic abstraction, where industrial, pipe-like geometries are infused with organic, anatomical suggestion. The work is dominated by a central, hollow cylindrical volume that curves at the base, from which a serpentine, ear-like handle emerges and loops back into the top opening. This interplay of interlocking forms creates a dynamic sense of internal and external flow, heightened by the warm, earthy patina of the bronze. The textured, slightly weathered surface of the metal provides a tactile depth, contrasting beautifully with the smooth, polished surface of the dark marble plinth upon which it rests.
Conceptually, the piece navigates the tension between the mechanical and the visceral, evoking the internal structures of the human body—such as the auditory system or the digestive tract—through the language of industrial design. The deliberate use of negative space within the loop and the open apertures of the cylinders invites the viewer to consider the work as a vessel for sound or breath. By grounding these undulating, fluid shapes on a rigid, variegated stone base, the artist achieves a sophisticated balance between movement and stability. The result is a totemic object that feels both ancient and futuristic, a silent meditation on the rhythmic complexities of biological life.
