I treat this paper as a site of construction, building a landscape out of pure light and friction. For me, tempera is the perfect medium for this dialogue; it dries with a speed that demands honesty and prevents me from over-thinking the mark. Each block of color is a physical choice—a brick laid in an emotional structure that doesn't require a horizon line to feel grounded.

In this work, I wanted to capture the feeling of a 'contained sun.' The central mosaic of bright blues, oranges, and pinks acts as a core of energy, held in place by the heavier, earthier tones of the border. I move the brush across the surface to find a rhythm, layering cool teals against searing yellows to create a visual pulse. There is no hidden subject to find here; the 'story' is simply the movement of the pigment and the joy of the application. I hope that when you look at this, you stop trying to see an object and instead start feeling the heat of the red against the cold of the blue. It is a record of a moment where color became my only language
