Kaftan
24 W × 30 H × 5 D cm

In Kaftan, I sought to capture the silent authority and ornate beauty of Ottoman history. The kaftan was never just a garment; it was a canvas of status, power, and divine protection.

By working in the miniature tradition, I wanted to shrink that grandeur into an intimate space, forcing the eye to appreciate the rhythmic repetition of the patterns and the shimmer of the gold. I chose to set the royal red and turquoise against an aged, neutral background to let the colors sing, much like a jewel in a velvet box. For me, this piece is a bridge between centuries—a way to hold the magnificence of the palace in the palm of one's hand and a reminder that true craftsmanship, much like the traditions it depicts, is timeless
