Ahmed Moussa

Dr. Ahmed Moussa, born in Cairo in 1979, is a renowned sculptor and educator specializing in sculpture. He earned his Ph.D. in Sculpture from the University of Helwan in 2018, focusing his research on public sculpture and its relationship with the surrounding environment. With a master’s degree in Sculpture (2011) and a Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture (2003) from the same institution, Dr. Moussa has been an active participant in the visual arts field since 2001.

Currently a full-time Sculpture Instructor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Zamalek, Helwan University, Dr. Moussa has also taught sculpture at the American University in 2012 and the Russian University in Cairo during the 2024/2025 academic year. He has proudly represented Egypt at international art events in Germany, China, and Italy. His work has received significant recognition, including the first prize in sculpture at the Youth Salon (2001) and the Al Futtaim Sculpture Symposium Award (2017).

Dr. Moussa's large-scale sculptures are prominently displayed in public spaces in Egypt and abroad, including the Mall of Egypt statue (2017), the memorial statue for the Unknown Soldier in Luxor (2019), the Mamsha Ahl Masr statue (2021), the statue in front of the Egyptian Opera House in the New Administrative Capital (2022), and “The Greatest Manifestation” in Saint Catherine (2023). His work explores themes of identity and cultural heritage, weaving narratives that resonate with historical and human significance, inviting audiences to engage deeply with the stories his sculptures embody.
