In 'Strong Roots, I presented with a visceral meditation on the concept of endurance. The central form—a trunk composed of tightly wound, sinewy fibers—knots itself in a display of concentrated power before erupting into a crown of reaching, claw-like branches.
Unlike the artist's other works that feature verdant foliage, this 2020 piece strips the subject to its essential architecture. The absence of leaves shifts the narrative from seasonal growth to permanent stability. Set against a dark, ethereal forest of shadows, the golden-ochre tones of the tree suggest a light source emanating from the wood itself. The work acts as a visual anchor, suggesting that true strength is found in the complexity of one's foundation. Priced at $3800, this canvas serves as a powerful statement on the beauty of the struggle required to remain grounded in an uncertain landscape
