Timeless I

In Timeless I, I wanted to give a physical body to the concept of duration. We often think of time as something fleeting, but for me, it is something that accumulates—layer by layer, like the sediment in a canyon or the rust on a steel beam.

I chose a metal board because of its industrial coldness, using it as a foundation to build upon with raw structure paste. The wooden letters are intentionally sunken into the top layer, as if they are being slowly reclaimed by the earth. I wanted the lower sections to feel increasingly heavy and ancient, moving from the smooth, sandy textures of the middle ground into the rough, jagged stone of the base. For me, this work is a meditation on the beauty of things that endure. It is an invitation to touch the surface of a moment and feel the weight of everything that came before it—a silent, frozen record of existence
