Mona Medhat

0.0 ★

Born in Cairo, she graduated from the Faculty of Art Education

and works as a professor in the Department of Art Works and Folklore,

specializing in printmaking.

The symbol for the artist is the ability to express her ideas of

childhood and the world of dreams in a symbolic image that depends in

the formulation of its elements on the superimposed transparent color

spaces of neutral tones and flying lines that give a suggestion of

movement and fluency between the elements of the artistic work in her

formations to show her childish elements and her innovative formations

in a symbolic form expressing visual images from the imagination of the

artist, so when she begins to express from her symbolic forms, she is

more sincere because she connects to her depths and her conscience. The

artist always has stories and tales that she read in the past when she was

young or told to her, and she always summons them to express them in a

simplified symbolic form that expresses the content of the idea of the

story or tale, and this is evident in how she formulates her elements and

heroes in each artwork and expresses them.

The artist imagines her artistic symbols and translates them

sensually using ink on cotton paper, taking inspiration from children's

expressions in her drawings for their boldness, details, and special

symbols. The artworks embody the artist's thoughts, emotions, and

feelings, and convey her ideas and point of view to the viewer.
