Egyptian artist who studied art and obtained a postgraduate degree in ancient Egyptian antiquities, in addition to studying art therapy and set design in Egypt and in France.

She worked in the field of tourism and tour guidance as well as working as an art therapist, interior design and in designing film posters.

Her paintings were exhibited nationally in Egypt and internationally in France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Vienna, Portugal, Azerbaijan, Cape Town and Morocco.

Her paintings were obtained by individuals and institutions as the Cairo Opera House, The National Organization for Urban Harmony as well as internationally in France, Netherlands, Germany, Dubai, Bahrain, Greece, England, Azerbaijan, Spain, Australia, Lebanon and the Embassy of Italy.

She has received several awards and appreciation certificates nationally and internationally.

El Sanhoury who has been practicing as an artist for over three decades, her style of ‘painting with textiles with their natural colors’ involves her sourcing and then hand sewing pieces of various types, textures, and tones of fabric.

Her ‘textile paintings’ are replete with symbols and motifs drawn from Egypt’s diverse civilizational history.
