Egyptian visual artist and graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University in Cairo. Her practice investigates collective identity, memory, and the psychology of human behavior through expressive and concept-driven painting. Her work is rooted in recurring visual systems—most notably herd structures, collective gaze, and female-centered narratives—through which she examines power, belonging, and observation. Drawing from both personal experience and broader cultural contexts, her compositions often position the individual within a charged social field, where presence, absence, and attention become central forces. Rushwan has exhibited widely in national exhibitions and competitions, receiving multipler ecognitions. Her awards include Second Place at the Al-Azhar International Fine Art and Caricature Competition, as well as honors from the Farouk Hosny Foundation Competition, the Youth Salon, and the Dai Exhibition. In 2025, she was awarded the Fine Art Association Medal in Painting. Her current direction focuses on expanding painting into a research-driven practice that intersects with storytelling, documentation, and contemporary cultural discourse, contributing to Egypt’s evolving art scene.
