Rahaf Al Batniji is a self-taught photographer and visual artist from Gaza City. Her first solo exhibition took place in the backyard of her home in Gaza City. Recent exhibitions include the Institut du Monde Arabe, Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai, and an upcoming group show at the Navy Officers’ Club, Arsenale, Biennale Venice, in collaboration with Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, where she is currently based. Often using color as a tool of resistance, she reflects the vitality of life in Gaza. She has also published extensively in print media, including Le Monde Diplomatique. Until recently, she was training young adolescents in Gaza City in photography and drawing. From 2021 to 2022, Batniji was an artist-in-residence at the Filepa Manuela Artist Residency and is currently based at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
