Artist \ Ahmed Saber Abdel-Zaher

Ahmed Saber was born in Sohag in 1987. He graduated from South Valley University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department: Graphics in 2009. He participated in local and International competitions. He got a lot of prizes such as Painting Prize awarded from Arts' Lovers Society and Painting prize from Youth Saloon in 2017 and other prizes. We can find Artist Ahmed Saber between modern worlds drawing the lines of his works accurately. In the philosophy he adopted in his works, he is an sincere surrealist; yet, he does not provide us with ancient or classical surrealist paintings but modern surrealism in its broad concept. With respect to the ideas, he provides us a lot of stages from the stages of Dismestic School based on the principle of filling intellectual and psychological illusions without discussing any ideal thought. It presents elements from reality within a framework of the irrationalism with the use of symbols as a surrealist factor inside the painting. Furthermore, it is also based on the idea of filling small items and intricate and bifurcating details as one of the means of modern surrealism in pieces of works of Ahmed Saber. Therefore, we find him in such part almost in conformity with Artist Laurie Lipton and Artist Mark Ryden. It is one of the most important properties of his works. Such details sometimes become the entire painting.

Artist Ahmed Saber usually tends to use symbols; particularly the animal symbol, with imitating the legendary shape in some cases. The animal model means symbolism in most cases and in a large scale due to bringing the legendary implies for the animal. For Artist Ahmed Saber, the use of such symbols is often repeated in his works. We find him repeating the use of the fish that is considered one of the basic components in the majority of his works. It means a lot for the ancient Egyptian; especially Upper Egypt people, whereas it was the basic worshipped God for certain territories. It was the symbol of life like Goddess. Hatmehit – one of life goddesses for Ancient Egyptian. At such point, we confirm that cultural background in the ancient civilization and authenticity that he presented is considered one of the most success reasons of the artist and for his proliferation. So, we find the works of Artist Ahmed Saber belong to Metaphysics School and Lowbrow art School – they are Post American Modernism
