Song Ziwei, born in Wuhan, Hubei in 1993, studied at the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. Her practice primarily involves conceptual art, installation, and video works.

Song Ziwei’s practice focuses on embodied experiences within social power structures. She frequently defamiliarizes what she or others take for granted, transforming passively consumed time into a concrete object of perception, thereby compelling the audience to confront the pressure in everyday life. 

Her selected solo exhibitions and personal projects include Beyond Progress (Pagsenti Yueju Hotel, Beijing, 2025) and Vortex of Order (Xuyu Huanbian, Zhuhai, 2024). Her works have also been featured in group exhibitions at various institutions, including Caijin Space, Gravity Art Museum, Fei Arts Museum, School for Curatorial Studies Venice, Museum of Contemporary Art Freiburg, CAFA Art Museum, and Shenzhen Art Institute.
