Rima Khaled was born in Syria in 1963. She graduated from Damascus University from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1985, majoring in visual communication and advertising. Rima worked for six years as a designer at the technical department of the Arab Advertising Agency in Syria. She also worked as a journalist for several Syrian and Lebanese magazines. She drew hundreds of children's stories for publishing houses in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and the Gulf and painted English language teaching books for private schools.

Additionally, she held educational courses to prepare students applying to the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus and Qalamoun. She helped in summer training courses at the Fine Arts Syndicate for children and young people. Rima also participated with illustrations in TV vaccine campaigns to raise awareness of children in rural areas.

From UNICEF, Rima won the award for the best logo for the National Vaccination Campaign in Syria—also the best television drawing award. In Egypt, she participated in several group exhibitions, including Cairo Atelier Exhibition, Exhibition - an art piece - at the Poet's House, Artist Festival Exhibition, Salute to Tad exhibition and more.
